Do notoriously dangerous sharks ever frequent the beaches of Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY?

I believe Sand Sharks and Nurse Sharks do swim near the beaches there, but these sharks generally bite if provoked. Farther east off the coast of Long Island, people fish for sharks and I think some of these are dangerous. I wonder if, even historically, dangerous sharks frequented Coney Island's beaches.
