Can I spray paint the fabric on a sling back patio chair?

I had a nice patio set with beige colored chairs and a gl top table for the patio. The wind blew the table over and shattered the gl so we bought a black wrought iron table to replace it. Now the chairs don't look horrible but would like them to match. I am trying to avoid buying wrought iron chairs and adding these chairs to the dump. The fabric is breathable so I thought maybe I could spray paint it? Would the paint go through, I could try to tape it off, just think that would be hard to get it perfect. I could paint the table to match instead but kind of like the black look. Thanks!
