Can someone explain to me the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes? (In "lay" terms, please!)

I'm type 2 diabetic, meaning I was not born with it and my body has a hard time ping sugar out of my body through my blood. I have to take medication to do that. Type one is when most of the people are born with this and need insulin. With both the body produces too much sugar and does not release it out of the body properly.
