Crossbow pheasant hunting?

hey, i was wondering whether a 250fps 150lb draw weight crossbow would be a good weapon for phesant hunting. if so, what bolts should i use to insure a nice kill. oh yeh, you guys that start telling me i should use a gun dont bother i have already contemplated that matter and as im 14 its kinda out of the question. i would probably be hunting rabbits and squirrels also. do i need to buy a liscence to kill phesant. i understand about the hunting ground having to be either your land or permission to use someone elses land. cheers guys!
