What are you supposed to do about a kid who abuses a dog?

Well I would talk to the kids Parents. They should have several long repeated talks with X about the golden rule. treating everything with love and respect at all times. sharing. selfishness. just telling him not to hit the dog won't do anything, because the child doesn't understand. unfortunately the parents might be embarred. they shouldn't be. there is a lot to raising a child and if it doesn't happen early there can be consequences. We don't want X to treat someone at school that way because they are getting attention. X needs help to feel at peace in himself and compionate and loving to all creatures. So I would talk to the parents sensitively and respectfully and let them know that you are concerned and that you care. and offer them help for Ideas on what to say to the child. Some children are self-centered and do not understand compion or empathy. they could tell him about the consequences. Like being bitten.
